This past week, Abel, also known as The Weeknd, posted a leak to his new album-

'Beauty Behind The Madness' When I listen to a new tune, I either love it right away, hate it, or have to listen to it a few times to like it. I've only listened to the album once the whole way through and I didn't love it but I didn't overall hate it either.

I personally miss The Weeknd I once used to listen to when he first came out on the scene; his first album House of Balloons is on another level. I think ever since he's "blown up" in the industry, he's lost his why are you collaborating with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey??

His new track "tell your friends” has been in the spotlight the past few days. To me it's one of those okay tunes ... I discovered a remixed version of the track that I think is ten times better than the original - take a listen:

On another note, despite the fact that I think he's lost touch with his true self, he's amazing live. If you ever get the chance to go see The Weeknd live, DO NOT MISS IT! He's definitely one of the few artists nowadays that not only sounds great in the studio, but even better live. I went to one of his shows about two years ago when he played at a small venue in Toronto, debuting his second album, and it was definitely one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Obviously if you're familiar with The Weeknd's music you know what kind of listeners he caters to and the kind of music videos he makes, very raunchy. The crowd was "interesting" to say the least and what was happening on stage while he was performing was definitely not PG rated material, so prepare to be entertained.

He's been on tour recently promoting his new album and he was just in Toronto at the Mod Club. I definitely prefer seeing him when he plays shows at a more intimate venue like the Mod Club, but if you missed that concert he'll be coming again to Toronto in November performing at the Air Canada Centre.
